Time for a Valencian 'almuerzo' (brunch)

After cycling and sightseeing for a while, it’s time to unwind and enjoy a typical Valencian ‘almuerzo’. This Valencian tradition originated in L’Horta (the agricultural fields) just outside the city. Field workers would start the day between 5:00-6:00 in the morning and needed a well-earned break & meal between 9:00-12:00. This would always be a social happening, together with fellow early risers & colleagues. For this reason, it’s called almuerzo popular, an important cultural and social happening that involved talks, meetings and friends, all very important for Valencian people.

We will take our almuerzo to a beautiful, tiny hidden park near the city center! We will discover that Valencia has many peaceful corners to relax and enjoy nature. After finishing up our almuerzo, we will have a traditional Valencian coffee before we continue our bike tour through the Turia park.

The next stop is the futuristic City of Arts & Sciences, where we will see the astonishing work of Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava.

The final part of the tour, since it’s a circular route, will pass by other highlights in the city center before returning our bikes. For dessert, we’ll have a typical refreshing drink from the Valencian fields with a local pastry. A really complete bike & food tour to discover Valencia, local life and its traditional gastronomy!
