Craft beer in Valencia? Without a doubt Valencia has a thriving craft beer scene with a growing amount of craft beer bars and breweries. Beer is, just like wine, an important part of Valencian culture. Having a ‘Cerveseta’ as an aperitif or combined with gastronomic traditions such as the almuerzo is very popular! However, beer is so much more than the refreshing lager drink you find in most places.
During the craft beer tasting, we’ll discover the versatility of beer, learn about beer history, styles, ingredients, the brewing process and how to taste beer like a pro of course! We select different Valencian/Spanish craft beers and pair them with local food, fresh from the nearby market! As a former professional brewer and craft beer enthusiast, my mission is to introduce you to the local beer culture and show you the versatility & quality of Valencian craft beer combined with local gastronomy.
The unique craft beer tasting experience in Valencia is hosted at a local craft beer tavern with local beers on tap and a terrace outside available. We will take our time (‘tranquilo’) and enjoy 4 to 6 different local beers.
Since we work with fresh craft beer and breweries continually innovate and brew new (seasonal) beer styles, the beer tasting is always custom-made. Food pairing depends on the beer styles, therefore on the same day of the tasting all the fresh products are bought at the local market. Expect all local products and tapas from small artisans, such as ensaladilla rusa, local ham & cheese and a typical Valencian pastry to finish. We love to pair local gastronomy with craft beer to discover tasty combinations!
As a former homebrewer and professional craft beer brewer, it’s my pleasure to take you through the steps of beer tasting and explain fun facts about beer history, styles, ingredients and of course, the brewing process!
